In the summer of 2006, a five year $100 million expansion was brought to completion.  Through this latest expansion, St. David’s Round Rock Medical Center has almost doubled in size and features the most advanced high-tech digitized technology available. With a total of 170 beds the expansion included the addition of a three-story medical tower, a new intensive care unit (ICU) and a new surgery department along with the infrastructure to support these expansions.  The medical tower has the future capacity for rapid expansions of four additional stories.

With this effort, St. David’s Round Rock Medical Center’s ICU has doubled in size and its surgery department is four times larger.

In addition, St. David’s Round Rock Medical Center brings the first accredited Chest Pain Center to the community.  Located inside the Emergency Room, the Chest Pain Center can immediately triage and treat patients who are experiencing chest pain with a consistent plan of care.

Future plans involve the development of 17 acres adjacent to the hospital, to provide flexibility for the growth of Williamson County well into the twenty-first century.

Scott & White opened a new Williamson County complex in July 2007, named the Scott & White Hospital and Diagnostic Imaging Center at University Medical Campus. The name reflects the surroundings with the Texas State University Center as the area's cornerstone, and highlights the Scott & White affiliation with The Texas A&M Health Science Center College of Medicine.

In its first phase, the hospital covers 196,000 sq. ft. with a four-story, 76-bed tower including a Scott & White Clinic and Scott & White Diagnostic Imaging Center. It features an emergency medicine center, inpatient and outpatient surgical services, endoscopies suites, surgical suites, general medicine and obstetrical and newborn services. Future build out on the 68-acre tract includes an ultimate expansion to a 300-bed facility.

It includes both Scott & White Clinic and non-affiliated private practice physicians. Scott & White is recruiting 30 permanent physicians to augment the 22 physicians currently at the system's clinics in Taylor, Cedar Park and Georgetown. Following this initial recruitment, the building will still have capacity available for another 30 physicians. Specialties anticipated at the campus include: cardiology, orthopedics, ophthalmology, obstetrics/gynecology, otolaryngology, urology, gastroenterology, neurology, podiatry, internal medicine and plastic surgery.

Seton Medical Center Williamson, opening in early 2008 will be located on a 74-acre site at the corner of University Boulevard and FM 1460. Seton Medical Center Williamson will be the largest and only faith-based hospital in Williamson County. The facility will be comprised of more than 365,000 square feet. The first phase of the campus will include a 181-bed hospital, ambulatory surgery center, diagnostic and imaging center, outpatient women’s center, cancer center and a complex of medical offices.

Patients and their families will find a healing environment where nature, technology and spirituality coexist.
