Experience Old World Italy right here in Texas! This month the Vineyard at Florence will present its third annual L’Arte Antica, a stone carving competition and demonstration, on Saturday, March 27 and Sunday, March 28, 11AM – PM. The vineyard, located in Florence, Texas, is just 40 miles north of Austin.
This FREE, family-friendly event will also feature a Fine Art Show with works by local artists, and a live performance by Austin’s own Diesel Kings, from 4 – 7PM. Food and drinks will be available for purchase.
Organized by Texas Carved Stone, also located in Florence, Texas, stone carvers from across the region will participate in the weekend-long event celebrating this Old World tradition. Onlookers will be able to experience first-hand the craft of stone carving and view works from approximately 50 area artists in a variety of media. Visitors will be able to purchase original works of art both days, and have an opportunity to bid on the stone works in process. The winner of the carving competition, as well as the highest bids, will be announced Sunday afternoon.
The Vineyard at Florence is a residential community surrounding a vast 30-acres of producing vines. The Vineyard offers amenities for guests and visitors such as a café, spa, art gallery, and two wine tasting rooms on site.
The Vineyard holds at least one fundraiser per year to benefit the community of Florence. Proceeds from this special event will benefit the Florence Public Library.
