The Small Business Development program serves as a focal point in assisting small and historically underutilized businesses and provides sources of contacts and research information that will assist with federal, state and local business issues for small businesses.

Small Business Development Council

The Small Business Development Council serves the needs of the small business by providing training programs, assistance tools, and programs that lower the cost of doing business. The council is also an advocate, communicating needs and concerns of small business to governmental leadership.

SCORE

SCORE "Counselors to America's Small Business" is a nonprofit association dedicated to entrepreneur education and the formation, growth and success of small business nationwide. Texas State University Small Business Development Center The Texas State University Small Business Development Center (SBDC) works with existing and startup small businesses to help them grow and compete in today's global economy. SBDCs are available to provide assistance during every phase of the business life cycle. The improvements that result from our direct support of our client's activities lead to job creation, investments, and economic growth for communities throughout central Texas. Comptroller Field Offices- State Tax Information- The Comptroller's office helps taxpayers comply with sometimes complicated tax rules and procedures.     

Secretary of State- Business Corporation Information - The Business and Public Filings Division consists of four different sections. These sections maintain filings and records related to Texas corporations, financial and banking transactions, executive branch commissions, Legislative mandates, and other public organizations.

Texas Building & Procurement Commission (TBPC) administers the Historically Underutilized Business (HUB) Program. The goal of this program is to promote full and equal business opportunity for all businesses in state contracting. HUB certification increases exposure to 'Information For Bid's' on delegated purchases, open market purchases, term contracts, leases, and construction projects.
